How to add custom C++ class in Visual Studio?
I’ve written a simple custom C++ class as described here:
How to add custom classes in Visual Studio?
However, in Visual Studio, the only way to add a new class is the Visual C++ class template, which doesn’t seem to have the same characteristics as my custom class.
I can add my custom class to the precompiled header, but it will be included only when using Windows.
Any hints or tricks on how to create a new Visual Studio C++ class?
The same way you create a new Windows C++ class: the template wizard. You need to define a class and then you can enter some parameters for it.
iPhone push notifications in background
I would like to receive updates in the background and hide my application while using the web or doing other stuff. This functionality is supported by iPhone without any plugin or special coding. I just use it as a normal iOS app.
I have tried using the Notification Center and Game Kit Services, but I don’t think they support the background mode. Is this correct?
Currently Apple doesn’t allow apps to use BLE or gps in background mode. You can’t even make your app’s icon to show or hide over the top of other apps. You can hide your status bar which would still show the app icon if it was opened. But no other parts of your app will show. You won’t even receive the remote notifications until you open the app unless you make your app to support background fetching. However it will be shown in the lockscreen as well if you use the new iOS 7.0 notifications. In iOS 7, if you want to have the notification you can use the new UIApplicationStatusBarNotificationStyle. It can be easily changed in your code. Here is Apple’s documentation link which shows how it is done.
I recommend you to not use background fetching at all if you need the background support for your app. From the UI application you will lose the background support.
There’s no other way to achieve what you want without using gamekit or background fetches.
From iOS 5.0 Apple introduced Background Task with capabilities to run in Background.
If you set your app to support background mode then you can fetch the data from internet(for example) and alert the user if

The Role of the Police
The question has been raised as to why the Montreal police haven’t even begun to investigate the incident between Semenov and Sylvain Lefebvre. This is a valid question but don’t get too excited, the police will work on the case, eventually. Why? Here are the major reasons:
1. The police have enough to investigate without wasting time on frivolous claims. First of all, we know for a fact that Lefebvre’s death was indeed a homicide. That person has been charged and remanded in custody. Secondly, the police already have enough proof that there is no connection between the death of René Angélil and Lefebvre’s suicide.
2. With all the controversy and controversy surrounding the investigation, that’s a large amount of cash to be investigating. The theory of the day is that Lefebvre’s accomplice who is in jail is in it for the money. That’s one hell of a lot of money to be looking into.
3. With the 30 days that have passed since the incident, there is ample time to prepare a formal investigation report. That process requires preparation, time, resources, and staffing.
These investigations take time. This is not the first time that people have died in relation to Angélil’s death and the police should have enough evidence to proceed. Their job is to pursue evidence and motives as they proceed. And if they find anything, it will be publicized. If they don’t find anything, it will be made public as well.
In the meantime, let’s all support the Angélil family.
On the next episode of Forever in Your Mind: The Angélil Cousins, we’ll continue the Angélil Cousins story in the courtroom.
Erika ReneeThanks for the great article about the angelais cousins.I had heard the boys’ Mom had been taking care of the cousins, which is why they weren’t there to support René. I had wondered if one of the men in the case could have been Lefebvre.
Good article, Jackie. I think one of the many unanswered questions is why authorities would be investigating the Angélil family at the same time as this investigation. Why don’t they let it ride and then investigate later?
Erika, I’d like to thank you for the
